Rating for the recording, not the show
Earlier versions of this Jerry Moore recording are better. This one sounds muffled, as if bathed in Dolby. Back in the cassette days, I used to mark all my tapes "No Dolby, EVER!!!" I hope this is taken as constructive criticism for future reference. I would much rather have pops and claps than to have Godchaux's piano runs rendered nearly inaudible as they are here. There is some very intricate, fast and thick riffing done by him and Garcia in this show, and it should be left clear rather than softened, or it gets lost. If you try to remove the noise, then the whole thing actually sounds like noise because of the lack of separation.
